I always think of all the photos I take that I find interesting and wish there was someway to share those with the world without cluttering up my Facebook news feed.Enter the blog.
Now just a FYI, this isn't my first rodeo with a blog. I tried having Tumblr as my blog. Didn't do so swell. Truth is I LOVE the tumblr community. You could not find a more smarmy, sardonic group of people that know and appreciate art for what it is. Think of Tumblr as that not very well known kinda sketchy coffee shop where all of your favorite local musicians play, now sure, you kind of enjoy your time there, but you wouldn't want your parents showing up at around 11PM on a Tuesday night. And Tumblr has all kinds of great features and blah blah blah. But my beef with Tumblr is not what it has, or who's using it. My beef is what Tumblr doesn't have. Tumblr lacks professionalism. Plain and simple. Tumblr lacks the customization that I need. Tumblr lacks the ability for me to host the blog, using my URL for free, like Wordpress does.
So I made the decision to either shut down or archive my tumblr blog and move to greener pastures. And by greener pastures I mean wordpress. I would like to say that this blog will be updated regularly. But there's a bit of a problem. Problem is: me. I know me. I'm not good at maintaining things like this long term.. Remember that 365 day project where I take a photo and post it everyday? Lasted two weeks.
So what can you expect from this wordpress? Is it just like every other photography blog on the web? Maybe, but you'll just have to wait and see.
